THE STUDIO

YUCCA STUFF IS A NEW YORK-BASED DESIGN STUDIO DEDICATED TO THE PRODUCTION OF FINE CONTEMPORARY FURNITURE. THE STUDIO WAS FOUNDED IN 2015 BY DANIEL MORRISON, A FORMER ARCHITECT AND LIFELONG WOODWORKER. DANIEL’S WORK IS DEFINED BY STRONG ARCHITECTURAL UNDERPINNINGS AND A LOVE FOR THE RICH MATERIAL PALETTE OF TEXAS, HIS HOME STATE.

TEXAS

YUCCA STUFF’S WORK draws from THE REGIONAL AESTHETIC AND UNIQUE  MATERIAL PALETTE FOUND IN CENTRAL TEXAS. OUR PIECES INCORPORATE STONES AND HARDWOODS SPECIFIC TO THE REGION, WHICH ALLOWS US TO FORM CLOSE RELATIONSHIPS WITH OUR MATERIAL SUPPLIERS AND FABRICATORS. OUR COLLECTION IS NAMED FOR THE PLANTS AND RIVERS THAT RUN THROUGH TEXAS.

OUR PRACTICE

YUCCA STUFF IS COMMITTED TO BUILDING MODERN CLASSICS. WE AIM TO CREATE enduring PIECES THAT CAN WITHSTAND THE CAPRICE OF PASSING TRENDS.  WE ACCOMPLISH THIS BY BALANCING MODERN SILHOUETTES, MINIMAL DETAILING, AND RICH ARCHITECTURAL MATERIALS. OUR PIECES ARE IMPECCABLY CRAFTED FROM SUSTAINABLY SOURCED HARDWOODS AND STONE, AND OUR FINISHES ARE HAND APPLIED.  EACH PIECE IS INTENDED TO COMPLEMENT THE QUIET SPACES OF THE HOME, TO GROW BETTER WITH AGE, AND TO BE PASSED DOWN WITH PRIDE.

ABOUT DANIEL

DANIEL TRAINED TO BE AN ARCHITECT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AND THE OSLO SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN. HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN FASCINATED WITH TOOLS AND ARTIFACTS, AND LEARNED THE BASICS OF WOODWORKING BY WATCHING PBS ON SATURDAY MORNINGS AS A CHILD. DANIEL GAINED INVALUABLE EXPERIENCE WHILE WORKING WITH BALL-NOGUES STUDIO IN LOS ANGELES, WHERE HE WORKED ON ‘CRADLE’ - AN ACCLAIMED PUBLIC ART PIECE INSTALLED IN SANTA MONICA. BEFORE FOUNDING YUCCA STUFF, DANIEL WORKED WITH BALL-NOGUES STUDIO, NARCHITECTS, OMA, AND FACE DESIGN + FABRICATION.
